Popular Police Eyeglasses

July 9th, 2010

“Police eyeglasses” is a misleading name because people are apt to think that these eyeglasses are being used by the police as sunglasses. It has got nothing to with the police except the name. However, it has something in common with police sunglasses. Like the police version, police eyeglasses have the glasses with blue mirror. The designs are supposed to be trendy. While all makers of other brands claim that their sophisticated products are made to the latest designs, police eyeglasses, though claimed to be modern, are based on designs which were popular in the 80s’ of the 20th century. Therefore they can be called retro styled eye glasses.

The models and designs of the 1980s have been adopted and suitably modified to suit the tastes of the present day public. The old designs had square frames. They are still popular and therefore police eyeglasses come in these designs. The previous styles used thick frames which were very popular in those days. The recent styles have changed over to thin frames that means plastic or nylon frames or steel frames which are gold plated. However, police eyewear has found that thick frames of old are still popular and therefore, they have had no hesitation in bringing out this retro style eyeglasses. Advanced technology has helped in offering eyeglasses in different colors giving the user a very wide choice.

In an effort to update its look, police eyeglasses have dropped the word “POLICE” from their logo and replaced it with the letter ‘p’ with a small mirror. The mirror symbolizes the mirror feature of the lenses. The changeover has made a good impression. Police eye glasses are designed for use of men only for the present and the owners think that men’s wear can be matter of fashion also. This is different from the trend to make eyeglasses only for men.
